There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Proverbs 16:25 NKJV There are many man-made ways to worship God, many religions that will lead you down the road of destruction. There is only one way to receive eternal life. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 NKJV “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 NKJV For it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17 NKJV Faith comes from the basics of Christianity. We hear the Word of God. We believe the Word of God. We receive the Word of God into our soul. This enables the Holy Spirit to reside in our heart.
Jesus said, “He who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:23 NKJV When we believe the Bible is true we are exempt from the punishment of death. Our bodies may grow old and die, but our soul and spirit live on through eternity. This is a promise from God, and it is impossible for Him to lie. We will be judged for the way we have served others, but we will never face the judgement of sin. Our sins are settled with God the moment we confess Christ as our Savior. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 NKJV Through our study of the Bible, believing that every Word is from the mouth of God, and that He is willing and able to do all that He has promised, we are saved. For this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:9-12 NKJV
We were not liberated from sin by perishable things such as gold and silver from the empty lifestyle we inherited from our ancestors, but by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Even though He was tempted in every way we are, He never sinned. He was a sacrificial lamb without blemish, and was appointed to His destiny before the beginning of the world. He was made known to us so that through Him we may believe in God. Christ was risen from the dead in glory so that through our faith we may have eternal life. So we have purified our souls by obeying the truth through the Holy Spirit. We love one another with a pure heart, having been born again through the word of God which lives and abides forever. Jesus came into the world to declare God to mankind, to make known to all His mercy, love, power, and grace.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:10-13 NKJV It is God’s own desire that we may know Him through His written Word so that we will become the first resurrected beings of all His creation. Possessing an eternal body that never dies, never gets sick, and never grows old. A body of flesh and bones void of anything that corrupts us. Therefore, it is important we put aside any wickedness so that we may receive the implanted word of God which is able to save our souls.
We are not saved by the things we do, but by doing the will of our heavenly Father. For He is not willing that any should die in their sins, but that all of us should turn from sin and turn towards God. Many have asked the question, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” John 6:28-29 NKJV Jesus loves the church and gave Himself for it so that he might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:26-27 NKJV The power of the Word of God is beyond our understanding. I cannot explain to you how it works. I know from experience as I study the Word of God there is a change in me. A change in my attitude, a change in my behavior, and my character begins to resemble the character of Christ. DBS&P Daily Bible Study & Prayer.
