Our Savior, Jesus Christ, displayed all the attributes of God while He was here on earth. In all the history of the world no man exhibited the divine power that Jesus Christ demonstrated. He is all powerful, all knowing, and everywhere all the time. He spoke a word and people were healed, the elements obeyed, and demons trembled. When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Luke 4:40-41 NKJV The crowds that followed Jesus were amazed at His power, but a relatively few were willing to believe He was the Son of God. Many of those who followed Him daily did not completely understand His deity. When He calmed the storm near Galilee the disciples asked, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!” Mark4:40 NKJV
Jesus Christ is Omnipresent, or present everywhere at the same time. Jesus told His disciples that he would soon be returning to the bosom of His Father, but he encouraged them with these words in John 14:16-20 NKJV “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” This Bible verse tells us that Jesus was in heaven with the Father at the same time He was with the disciples here on earth. Jesus is in heaven, and He is also with every believer here on earth. Jesus said, “Where two or three meet in my name I am there also.” One of the secrets to Christianity is “Christ within you.” We are in Him and He is in us. He will always be with us, and we can count on Him as we travel through this life.
Jesus Christ is Omniscient, or knows everything. He knows the hearts and minds of all people. Whatever you are doing, thinking, or planning He knows every thought you have. In Matthew NKJV the Bible tells us Jesus came to Capernaum, and the tax collectors were seeking tax revenue. They asked Peter, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?” Matthew 17:24 NKJV Peter told them, “Yes.” When Peter came into the house Jesus anticipated his question, and asked Peter, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?” Peter said to Him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.” Matthew 17:25-27 NKJV On many occasions the disciples acknowledged the all knowing power of Jesus. In
Jesus said, “I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.” His disciples said to Him, “See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God.”
Jesus Christ is Omnipotent, He is all powerful. Jesus Christ created all things, and He is the image of the invisible God. He is the brightness of the Father’s glory, and has the power to forgive sins. Over and over again the Bible tells of the miracles He performs. He has control over the elements and has the power over death. For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. John 5:21,28-20 NKJV He will one day transform our mortal bodies. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. Philippians 3:20-21 NKJV One day soon He will judge all people. For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father Who sent Him. John 5:22 NKJV
Jesus Christ gives us eternal life. During Jesus ministry He plainly stated the it is He who gives eternal life to all who believe on His name and put faith in His shed blood. When He gave up His life on the cross He finished the work that God had commissioned Him to do. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. John 10:27-28 NKJV And in John 17:1-2 NKJV we read, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. It is God’s gift to you. All you have to do is believe on the name of the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ. And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen. John 21:25 NKJV
